- Job Description: Shelter Support staff
Location: Safe Haven in Mt Carmel.
Status: Part time
Under the supervision of the Director, Assistant Director and Board of Directors, the Shelter support staff will work to provide homeless woman and children a safe and comfortable place to reside on their ways to becoming self-sufficient.
- high school or equivalent (required)
- US work authorization
- Available to work any shift that may include overnight stays
Working Hours would be 10-15 hours a week. Screening of potential residents, and upkeep to resident files. Discharge procedures for residents leaving the shelter. Various clerical and administrative duties. Ensure residents have food, clothing and toiletries and shop to restock inventories. Answer incoming calls and field community questions. Model and teach accountability, respect, trust, and appropriate behaviors relating to shelter rules and guidelines. Will support and maintain a conducive environment that promotes the emotional, mental, and physical growth of residents. Advocate for resident needs. Maintain confidentiality of residents. Communication skills a must. Computer skills a plus. Must have reliable transportation. Other duties as required.
