Swift Sanctuary is a short-term rental in Mt. Carmel. This home fits the needs of anyone working or conducting business in town who needs a comfortable place to stay. It is great for families and friends coming home for weddings, funerals, graduations, holidays, or community events. This two bedroom, one bath home comes with all the furnishings that will make your stay feel just like home. Devan and Stacey Swift bought the house next door to their home because they wanted to offer the community a unique and luxurious rental accommodation in Mt. Carmel. The Swift Sanctuary is available for nightly rentals, which includes the use of the private home, yard, wi-fi, and laundry facilities.
The Swift’s created an eclectic styled home by combining modern furniture with antiques and repurposed pieces. The Swift’s love of family and history influenced the interior design of the Swift Sanctuary. As you enter the home you will find a pie case from the old Sager’s Grocery Store, antique pallets made into a coffee table, and stained glass windows from the First Christian Church. Devan’s dad, Don Swift was an art teacher at MCHS and WVC and his paintings and pottery are on display throughout the house. There are sculptures made from a Hedge tree limb that Stacey’s Grandpa Stelzer cut on the family farm over eighty-five years ago.
The Swift’s wanted to “Shift 10” as they were creating their new business. They were passionate about using as many resources from the community as possible. They have purchased all of their paint from 4 different local businesses. Their business signs, t-shirts, flyers and cards, as well as custom wall applications were made in Mt. Carmel. The Swift Sanctuary website was created by hometown web designers. Devan and Stacey are proud to be from a community of talented and hardworking people and they wanted to act as a community and support their neighbors. You can find links to many community celebrations and points of interest on their website.
The Swifts have had years of experience in the lodging business. Devan and Stacey both helped her parents, the Stelzer’s, run the Poor Farm Bed and Breakfast. They hope they will be able to put their experience to use by providing you or your family with a home away from home.
