MAP Oil Company, Inc., was founded in 1978 in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, by Mark A. Peach. He later moved his office to the northern end of Grayville, Illinois, on Route 1, and remains there today.
MAP Oil operates approximately 85 wells in southeastern Illinois and southwestern Indiana. The company has recently moved in to the area of horizontal drilling and secondary recovery projects.
Through the years, many wells and leases were acquired from other operators, however, the majority of the company’s wells were drilled on new or abandoned leases. MAP Oil also provides contract pumping for a number of area companies.
In 2004, Mark incorporated MAP Trucking in Indiana as a support service to MAP Oil. The trucking company has grown steadily since then and now provides services to numerous area oil companies. More information about the trucking company can be found at www.maptrucking.net.
Currently, Mark is the scholarship committee chairman for the Indiana Oil & Gas Association, serves on the Illinois Oil and Gas Advisory Board, is a member of the Illinois Oil and Gas Association and the Independent Oil Producers Association.
MAP Oil Company, Inc., is an independent oil producer and maintains its support of promoting Illinois and Indiana oil and gas resources.
