Alison Dudley founded Little House of Music in 2005. Alison started taking piano lessons when she was 9 years old. “I always absolutely loved it,” she comments. She performed her first cantata at only 14 years old. Growing up with her father a pastor, Alison always enjoyed playing in church.
Alison has now been teaching piano lessons to others for 20 years. In 2000 Alison started working with Wabash Valley College theatre doing musical productions and also instructs keyboard lessons. She states that some of her favorite musicals she has done at WVC include “Godspell”, Carol King’s “Tapestry”, and Rogers and Hammerstein’s “Some Enchanted Evening”. Allison also accompanies the WVC Community Choir each year for their annual “Spirit of Christmas” concert and greatly enjoys that as well.
Another wonderful opportunity that Alison has received was when she and her choir were asked to join Sandi Patty, world-renowned and well-acclaimed gospel singer, at the Rose Bud Theatre for a performance. Alison is very talented and felt very honored to perform with such a talented and successful performer.
She also feels honored to work with such a great group of students here in Mt. Carmel. Alison has students ranging from 4 to 75 years old. Each year the Little House of Music hosts a very creative and much anticipated recital showcasing the students. This event is held at the Trinity United Methodist Church and pictures from the event can be viewed on the Little House of Music Facebook page. Alison really cares about her students and tries diligently to put a personal touch on each event that better suits each individual student.
When needing a talented pianist at your next event, give the Little House of Music a call. Alison is experienced with weddings, parties, and funerals. If you are interested in inquiring about lessons contact them to check availability, if no spaces are vacant they will be glad to place you on a waiting list until something becomes available.
Alison truly has a love and a passion for music and the need to teach it to others. We thank her for bringing such talented and inspired services to our local community! “Music is THE universal language which speaks to the hearts and souls of all man-kind.”
