Kieffer Lumber Company began in 1972 by Al and Marge Kieffer. Al, Marge, and their son Duane presently own the company. Al was a carpenter for a local lumber company for many years as a young man and made the decision to branch out and begin Kieffer Lumber Company.

Natives of Mt. Carmel the Kieffer’s raised all six of their children here utilizing their help at the family business. Duane Kieffer worked as a child outside in the lumberyard loading customers, and stocking inventory. Over time Duane has evolved to Part Owner and Store Manager.

Duane is not the only Kieffer keeping the family business afloat. This locally owned business truly is a family affair, with Duane’s wife Angela overseeing the office and working beside sister Lisa. Bud Kieffer is busy out of the office running one of Kieffer Lumber’s well-known construction crews, while Duane is overseeing another construction crew. Jason Kieffer is currently the store’s Assistant Manager working hard to learn the ropes in hopes of keeping the family business going in the future.

Kieffer construction crews are experienced in building new homes, garages, and new room additions. They also do beautiful kitchen and bathroom remodels. They offer all of the supplies needed to create such masterpieces, and many others including:
